"A small "mirror effect problem" with the Fujitsu Lifebook T580" by Giacomo UCDS

Thanks to Fujitsu Italy I had the opportunity to test a Fujitsu Lifebook T580 that, from an "aesthetic point of view", is characterized by an interesting "problem".

In the Fujitsu's smallest convertible Tablet PC the frame of the screen is distinguished by a slightly grooved design. In the "Fujitsu" logo zone the grooved finish is missing, since the designer has thought of leaving a smooth area in the shape of the logo, so the printed "Fujitsu" word can be not aesthetically ruined and clearly visible. But something went wrong...

The smooth space does have the shape of the logo, but in mirror image. Of course this does not affect in any way the usability of the Tablet PC, but is nice to see these small "errors": even Fujitsu Tablet PCs are not perfect, "human".

"World´s first notebook bay projector" by Daniel_Klaus

Yesterday we unleashed a really cool product: The world´s first notebook bay projector built in to the modular bay of LIFEBOOKs for presentations anywhere.

This fold-out Fujitsu bay projector is ready to use in seconds and means no external beamer or external cables are required to share slides, spreadsheets or YouTube videos with colleagues or friends.

In addition to its small size and portability, the patented bay projector is quieter and more robust than a traditional projector, whose lens bulbs are easily damaged.

The projector will be available from July as an option for the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK P771 and LIFEBOOK S761 notebooks.

As always, we want to hear what you're thinking? In what scenarios would you use one?

	Dear Insiders,

In Autumn 2010 we started our LIFEBOOK4Life project. 53 people from 8 countries qualified to become Fujitsu Insiders. The LIFEBOOK4Life mission of the Insiders was to test 10 different LIFEBOOK models and take part in several tasks where they experienced the new features and shared how the LIFEBOOKs enriched their lives.

Because of the enthusiasm and great efforts of the 53 Insiders we extended the campaign in 2011. The Insiders have reached a special status and were rewarded with a badge showing their importance for Fujitsu as a brand ambassador.

And with new tasks and topics to talk about we heft the project to the next level. The integration of the LIFEBOOK4life blog into Facebook was one highlight within the extension of the 2010 campaign.

Thanks again for your participation and for your crucial and honest feedback. It means a lot to Fujitsu and the respective product managers will consider your testing experience for future developments.

But as we already mentioned, this was just the beginning.

This summer LIFEBOOK4Life starts with a new project. For that we will search for a second generation of Insiders. People who are interested can already apply here. contact form (Maybe you have some good friends who you believe are just perfect to become a LIFEBOOK4Life Insider?)

As you are and will be LIFEBOOK4Life Insiders you are warmly welcome to follow the upcoming project. We will also integrate you as you remain important to us. But a new generation of Insider will take the lead. However we want to take a few first generation Insiders to the next level. Because those people convinced us with their ongoing and extraordinary support. They not only published high quality contributions but also devoted their time writing comments and participated very actively in our LIFEBOOK4Life community. We want to honor this exemplary behavior and really want to give those people their deserved credits. Because the following people did an incredible job and their attitude correlates perfectly with the Fujitsu attributes we herby award the following Insiders with an upgraded SilverStatus Badge.

The Silver Status Insiders will play an essential part in the follow up campaign, which will start this summer. We won‘t reveal too much but we have something very stylistic for you ;) Please confirm if you are interested in the offer and if you want to take the next step in our little community. Please write us your confirmation to info@Lifebook4life.com. If you should be prevented another Insider would take your place. The project-phase will last about 6 weeks expected during August/September 2011.

And again, even though we just announced the 10 Silver Status Insiders we still think that there should be a chance for all the other Insiders, who are still and always will be very important for the brand, to participate in the summer campaign. Therefore we will make sure to make the new campaign as open as possible so that also all other Insider with the first version of the badge can participate in one way or another.

There is even still a chance for you if you really really want to become a Silver Status Insider. We give away two wildcards to be part of the summer campaign and to turn to Silver Status. Just post a video on the project-blog until the 20/05/2011 12PM telling us what‘s so special to be a LIFEBOOK4Life Insider and why you want to become a Silver Status Insider. Maximum length of the video should be 60 seconds.

The zip file with the html versions of the badge will be sent to the final 12 Silver Status Insiders once they will be announced and final.

So for now we want to thank each and every Insider for their support. Your authentic and honest reflections and opinions mean a lot to the company. Keep on posting, whether it is on Facebook, Twitter, or on here. You are a LIFEBOOK4Life Insider. You are special.
